Emmaus Days is a vocations awareness program sponsored by the Diocese of Peoria. This program was
created to help young men discover their vocation. Participants are immersed in a spiritual and
fun-filled environment designed to make them more aware of God's presence in their life.
Prayer is at the heart of this discovery process. Emmaus Days is loaded with opportunities to learn
more about God and his Church. Participants are encouraged to spend time in Eucharistic Adoration,
celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and share in the Holy Eucharist. In addition, you will
learn about various devotions such as the rosary, the brown scapular and the chaplet of Divine Mercy.
Through interaction with priests, seminarians and others their own age, participants have a chance
to learn more about themselves. You will have the opportunity to participate in sporting activities
such as basketball, swimming and soccer. You will hear priests and seminarians reveal their vocation
experiences of seminary formation and priestly life. You will learn exciting stories about saints
such as Aloysius Gonzaga, Patron of Emmaus Days and St. Therese of Lisieux, the Patroness of our
vocation program. You will meet our chief shepherd, Most Reverend Daniel R. Jenky, who visits us at
the end of each session. This visit includes a meal, a talk, a group photo and a Pontifical Mass.
You will share this experience with parents, family and friends who are encouraged to join us for
the closing liturgy.
If these spiritual and fun-filled activities appeal to you, then consider participating in the Emmaus
Days program. This summer, come and explore the serious questions about life in a faith-filled
environment. We promise that you will walk away with the confidence to pray each and every day the
Emmaus Days Prayer.
"Lord help me to want to be what you want me to be!"
