Office of Catholic Schools

Mission Statement

The Office of Catholic Schools assists the Bishop with the organization and administration of the ministry of Catholic school education in the Diocese of Peoria by providing service, support, guidance, oversight, and direction to pastors, school administrators, boards and education commissions.

The Office of Catholic Schools serves the mission of Catholic schools in the Diocese by identifying, selecting, supporting, and evaluating leadership; by strengthening governance structures and membership; by promoting sound fiscal practices; by advocating recognition of and support for Catholic school education; by furthering institutional advancement through long range planning; by developing and implementing diocesan policies; by utilizing research findings and other data to assist schools in making sound decisions; and by fostering collaboration among schools.

In order to further the evangelizing mission of the Church, the Office of Catholic Schools works collaboratively with local educational leaders to develop schools that are dedicated to the transformation of the whole person by spiritual and catechetical formation, by academic rigor and the pursuit of excellence, and by advocating a Catholic worldview which recognizes that all knowledge is illuminated by the light of faith.
